Where should you start with Digital Product Passports?
Start with what a Digital Product Passport is and which regulation applies to your products, then work out which data you already hold and which sits with suppliers. Most programmes fail on supplier data rather than technology, so map that gap before choosing any platform.
The two regulations that create most passport obligations today are the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, which phases in product group by product group through delegated acts from 2026 to 2030, and the EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, whose battery passport becomes mandatory in February 2027.
